Good day, one and all, to my new blog, which will be found here, in my slightly revised corner of the web.
I wonder if my students will think it odd to find their teacher's musings for any and all to see, considering this website was primarily a depository for assignments and marks. But after seeing the blogs of my friends James and Erin, I couldn't resist the urge to jump into the mix.
And what, pray tell, shall I write about in this inaugural blog? I shall write about something that concerns me greatly: the addictiveness of Pringles.
It?s Saturday night, and I'm watching James make dinner in his kitchen. As I sit at the table, I spy the very bold red shape of a Pringles potato chip tube, sitting on the kitchen table. I ask if it's ok to open it and help myself...James tells me to go ahead, and I rip off the top. I spill the contents onto a convenient plate (so that James and I can share), and I lean back -- a stubby bottle of Waterloo Dark in one hand -- ready to have a relaxing conversation with my best friend.
Ten mintues later, I realize I've inhaled each and every last chip on the plate! James has had none. Luckily, he was cooking and chatting, and didn't notice my warp speed gluttony of unhealthy starch products.
The moral of this story? If one is to avoid temptation, make sure there is a bottle of beer in EACH hand. Always juggle your distractions.
Next time, I promise to write about something people will care about... ![]()
