Is there a village in Russia missing an intellectual? All the idiots are spoken for...

As Russia heads to the polls to acclaim their most recent czar, Vladimir Putin, stories about why this massive election victory will occur have been filtering out.

One interesting CBC radio report, filed from a small Russian town, contained interviews with several old women who were voting for Putin because he was sending the pension cheques on time, and they didn’t really watch TV, so they were unaware of the other candidates.

One woman in particular mentioned she was barely literate, and that the reporter should go speak with the town intellectual!

I couldn’t help but laugh. Town intellectual? Does that mean there is a surplus of village idiots? Does the town intellectual own the only books in the area? Does he sit around, smoke a pipe, and think to himself “I’m an intellectual”?

SIGH… Only in Russia…

Michael Coren is a TOOL

Michael Coren wrote a piece in yesterday’s Toronto Sun that “satricially” (I use the phrase loosely) equated the arguments for same-sex marriage with legalized incest.

It was totally disgusting. I could rant about it for some considerable time, but all I will say is that I am thankful that my generation is inheriting the rule of this country, and not his. Ancient prejudices, and bigotry cloaked in religious smugness belong in the 14th century, not the 21st century.
