Yes…I finally broke down and did it: I bought a new car.
I’m back in debt for 5 years, but I have a new car.
The LeBaron — the money pit from hell that has somehow survived 5 years — semi-died on me on Friday afternoon, as I got to the corner of Fairway Rd. and River Rd. Luckily, it did not explode…merely smoke and overheat alarmingly.
Canadian Tire wanted $1300 to repair the head gasket. My father and I, upon hearing the news, looked at each other and said “no way in hell!” Much diabolical laughter followed…
So we drove down to a near by dealership, test drove a few models, and as of this Wednesday afternoon…I will finally own a new car.
I won’t say what it is just yet…but it is red. I’ve always wanted a red car…it’s not a bright cherry red, or a deep burgandy…it’s plain, old-fashioned apple red, just like the polo shirts in my closet. ![]()
I’ve had quite a stressful weekend…repairs, stress, no sleep, that damn daylight savings time jump forward (Ben Franklin’s going to answer for the lack of sleep I suffered)…but I will post a review of my new car on Thursday morning, and see if all the bad feelings have been banished by then.
Oh God…I bought a new car!
