The Calm Before the....

Hmm....I find that it's Monday and I have nothing in particular to write (or rant) about. This could be for a number of reasons:

1-- I'm fighting a cold...using all the drugs, vitamins, liquids, and willpower at my disposal. I will NOT be sick, dammit! That said, my head is swimming in all this goop, and I do wonder from time to time if I'm still vertical. Strangely enough, I'm not alarmed by these after effects...

2-- Tomorrow is a GIGANTIC field trip to Niagara-on-the-Lake. My classes are going to see Pygmalion at the Shaw Festival, and while it should be a good day and a comfortable trip, the prospect of supervising over forty 17-and-18 years olds fills me with anxiety. This is my largest/longest-distance/most expensive field trip in five years of teaching. I will get through it...but it's taking most of my mental reserves to prepare myself...and fighting this cold isn't helping.

I think it's time to call on those dark side powers I always seem to be credited with possessing. Which reminds me, I need to get that shrine to Pierre Trudeau up and running...
