Happy Birthday to ME

I'm 30 today.

It's very odd...I woke up completely nauseous, and it didn't go away without the help of my good friends Tylenol and Gravol. Too much zesty fun on the weekend?

Hardly. I've never been one for parties. I had a nice celebration with my students on Friday, enjoyed a drive into Hamilton with my friends James and Erin on Saturday, and had dinner with the folks on Sunday. Today I'm a relaxing bum, content to watch a weekend of wild weather outside my window.

No crisis, no panicking. Just the thought that, in my 30 years on this blue-green orb, I've seen the fall of the Berlin Wall, the destruction of two space shuttles, the end of the cold war, the end of South African apartheid, the creation of the Charter of Rights, and the resurrection of my beloved Star Trek franchise. smile Somewhere in all that, I earned three university degrees.

All in all, it's been interesting. Here's to the next 30 years.
