Museums and Rugrats from 7th Circle of HELL

My Friday field trip to Toronto ended up being smooth as silk. My Grade 11s behaved themselves, and everything went off without a hitch at both the museum and the threatre (see the REVIEWS section below for my thoughts about TROY).

That said, I always have one of two experiences at the museum. Fate either grants me a day when we are the ONLY class there, or fate bitch slaps me by ensuring that every elementary school class in Toronto comes to visit on the same day I have booked for my class.

Guess which one happened to me on Friday....?

I love little kids...but that day, as hundred of sugar-enhanced, feral children (WHY are they always sugar enhanced on these occasions?) surged through the museum, I fantasized that the dinosaur collection would come to life and devour each and every last one of the little brats and the less-than-attentive chaperones who were supposed to be keeping an eye on them!

Am I the only teacher that inspires fear, terror, and the promise of death should my children misbehave? It's beginning to seem that way...

Pity. smile
