I'm back, after a day off with bronchitis, and I find myself in the middle of an election that has become terrifying.

1--The latest Ipsos-Reid poll is out, and it offers confusing, horrifying statistics that would indicate a mess of a minority government, where the Conservatives rule with the unholy support of the Bloc Quebecois. Can anyone say "sovreignty association"? Can you say "oh my GOD!"
2--The war in Iraq could have been avoided had Canadian soldiers been sent in earlier to scare Saddam Hussein, Stephen Harper says. This is a departure from his statement in April of 2003, when he said: "We should have been there, shoulder to shoulder with our allies." In other words, he's a lying cretin. Does he recall his horrible letter to the Wall Street Journal, condemning Canada's anti-Iraq position? Does he remember going on FOX news and telling America that he speaks for Canada's silent majority?
Does he remember that he is not the leader of the Republican Party's Canadian branch? Oh...actually, he may very well be THAT too!
3--Stephen Harper also says he will pull out of the Kyoto Accord. Harper said "the science is still evolving" and that there may be better ways to clean the air besides cutting greenhouse gas. Somewhere, in the melting arctic ice cap, a polar bear is laughing hysterically...
Perhaps Harper should go live on Venus and see how well their climate is doing...
4--A Liberal senator defects to the Conservatives (no worries...she sounds bats!)...then prominent Conservatives in Edmonton declare their support for Liberal (and Deputy PM) Anne McLellan...and the Liberal riding execuitve in Brampton-Springdale is now supporting the NDP candidate. I'm going to need a flow chart to keep track of all this...
And some people wonder why I'm so afraid of what lies ahead of us after June 28th? Get your head out of the sand, people! The Conservatives are going to strip this country down to its wires...and some voters actually think this is a GOOD thing! God help us...
