Some more post-election musings

Things that came to mind while cutting the lawn at my parents' home this morning:

1-The party combinations that may result on different pieces of legislation are fascinating. For example, Kyoto might pass with a Lib/NDP/BQ deal; the missile defence shield might pass with a Lib/Consv deal. This is certainly going to make for interesting political theatre.

2-Scott Brison, who I predict will be the next Liberal leader and Prime Minister (at least, he SHOULD BE), won his riding handily. Congratulations to him...it's another defeat for the bigots and fearmongers of the world, and a victory for progressivism.

3-My local area made me proud. Kitchener-Centre, Kitchener-Conestoga, and Kitchener-Waterloo all went Liberal, making me very happy for the people of my home town. However, Cambridge stubbornly went to the Conservatives in a nail-bitting finale. There's a real split down the middle of that part of Waterloo Region -- dare I say identity crisis?

4-Speaking of nail-bitting, Landslide Annie came through once again. This woman is touched by some serious mystic power!
