I may get my awe-inspiring moments after all!

Great news to wake up to this morning.

Bryan Singer, director of the first two X-Men movies, has signed on, along with his X2 writing team, to develop the next Superman movie.

How do I know this will succeed? How do I know I won't be disappointed? Well, aside from what I've said in the past (that X2 delivered the closest Superman movie thrill of recent memory), here's a quote from CNN that brings a warm glow to my heart:

Singer has long nursed a dream to direct a Superman movie.

"My interest in Superman dates back many, many years," he said. "In fact, it was the Richard Donner classic film that was my day-to-day inspiration in shaping the 'X-Men' universe for the screen. I feel that Superman has been late in his return and it is time for him to fly again."

I'm very happy now. The universe continues to unfold as it should...
