Today's potpurri, brought to you by the letter...

I, for irritating, dull and tedious pain.

My ear is aching, for some godforsaken reason. The inside is sore and tender, as is a spot on the side of my face, just under the ear. I have drops from the doctor, but I’m not sure they’re doing much in the way of anything.

When it rains, it pours. As if all my dental work wasn’t enough…

OH MY GOD, Bill O’Reilly made a salient point!

Went over to Fox News, looking to see if Mr. O’Reilly would offer me fresh fodder for my blog. Instead, in a discussion with someone about the New Jersey governor’s coming-out-affair-and-blackmail-scandal, he made the following remark:

O’REILLY: But he didn’t state them. He just said he’s gay and had a consensual affair. That’s not enough, in my opinion, to resign a governorship. I think there’s some big scandal here coming up.

Good lord! Since when did Bill O’Reilly start sipping from the fountain of logic & rationalism?

A comment on Canada’s first medal of the 2004 Olympics…

Congratulations to Emilie Heymans and Blythe Hartley for your bronze medal performance. Synchro-diving off the 10m platform is rather cool. It certainly beats an exciting session of trap shooting!

Speaking of exciting, keep your eyes on the Canadian baseball team. They’re now 4-0, although it helps to be up against the weaker teams in the competition. That said, they certainly seem to be dominating their field, and they wiped the floor with Greece (momentary pause as I reflect on the strange idea of a Greek baseball team…). The big test will be against gold medal-contender Japan on Friday.

Here’s hoping…
