It's Swedish for "Dammit, I want to buy that thing!"

I spent yesterday afternoon with friends at IKEA.

IKEA is a place that inspires infinite happiness. It makes you think you can configure your living space into four billion different styles…and the irony is, you ACTUALLY can (if you’ve brought enough money with you). I suppose that, once the Swedish people had given up war-mongering for boring neutrality, they had to turn all that repressed energy towards something…but who knew it would be furniture and decorating!

What I especially love about IKEA are the stupid names given to the furniture. Take the POANG as an example. It is one of IKEA’s most popular items: a chair that can be found in, literally, millions of homes throughout the world. My best friends have two of them in their house. Its lines are futuristic and sleek, yet simultaneously calm and classic. The perfect piece of furniture to go with anything.

So what did I buy at IKEA yesterday? Clothes hangers…5 for $1.99. They’re blue and outrageously funky, and I needed clothes hangers. It’s not a pair of POANG’s, but you have to start somewhere…
