Has North Korea slipped from our radar? I hope not…because serious things are afoot in that blighted nation.
Just look at this report from CBC:
North Korea claims to have ‘weaponized’ nuclear material Last Updated Mon, 27 Sep 2004 23:45:22 EDT UNITED NATIONS - North Korea’s chief delegate to the United Nations General Assembly says the danger of war on the Korean peninsula is “snowballing.”
In a speech to the assembly Choe Su Hon, North Korea’s vice foreign minister, also accused the United States of destroying the basis for negotiations on North Korea’s nuclear program.
During a press conference, Choe dismissed as “rumour” signs that Pyongyang may be preparing a ballistic missile test, but repeated claims the North had “weaponized” the fuel from 8,000 reprocessed spent fuel rods.

Bush and his bitch boy nations are so consumed with Iraq, they’ve taken their eye off the ball in the far east. The destabilization that threatens to consume this region is terrifying…but nothing constructive has been done about the situation. What will it take — a nuclear attack on Seoul?
Is it any wonder that people from the North are fleeing? It certainly is taking its toll on Western nations…including Canada. As reported this morning, dozens of suspected North Koreans believed to be seeking political asylum scaled the wall of the Canadian embassy in Beijing Wednesday, making it into the compound.
This is going to blow up in our faces, if the leaders of the free world don’t start taking a more proactive interest in the region. But knowing the Bush administration, the only thing that will convince it to act is the sight of a mushroom cloud, and the vapourization of thousands…if not millions. Perhaps if North Korea discovered a giant oil field within its borders, the U.S. would take an interest…
