Last Day of Freedom

back-to-school-card.jpg

My final day off, before it’s back-to-school.

Sigh…

The holiday season has flown by at a ferocious pace. Sick in the beginning, full of way too much food and way too much driving — not enough relaxation time. I’m not sure I even remember when it started.

It will be strange, going back tomorrow…there’s a feeling of time freezing into position. I’ll walk back into my classroom with the sense that I only left the previous day. As for today, it seems like an aberration. This silly get-off-and-go-back-in-the-middle-of-the-week experiment certainly isn’t cutting the mustard, as far as I’m concerned.

Today will be a day of finishing up my marking, my ironing…and waiting for the inevitable 5:15am wake up call. Still, it’s better to focus on normal life…otherwise, I’d be consumed with the Asian tsunami disaster. I’ve got enough obsessions at the moment…
