The Conservatives are at it again. The overlords of bigotry & hate are going to try one more time to defeat the government over its socialist budget, rather than let it survive long enough to let those nasty, evil gay people get married…
Conservative MPs receive e-mail edict for crucial budget vote on Monday
Ottawa: The Conservatives are threatening to do everything in their power to defeat the government next week unless the Liberals back off their efforts to rush through same-sex marriage legislation and the government’s $4.6-billion deal with the NDP.
Conservative MPs were sent e-mails yesterday afternoon from the party whip ordering them to be in their House of Commons seats no later than 2 p.m. on Monday and saying all MPs must be in the House to vote on Bill C-48, the budget bill, which will be the final confidence vote until at least the fall.
I’m beginning to get exceptionally tired of these narrow-minded, pinhead idiots who think they can become the next government of Canada. At the rate they’re progressing, they should consider more fertile ground, such as Zimbabwe, or even Utah.
Still, there was another story in today’s Globe and Mail that wiped much of the taste of Tory trash from my mouth:
GAYS AND JAYS TO CELEBRATE PRIDE NIGHT
Only Canadian professional sports team to hold event for homosexual community
TORONTO — A gay chorus will sing the national anthems. The host of a same-sex wedding television show will throw the first pitch. And as rainbow flags flutter, fruit mascots will entertain the crowd during the seventh-inning stretch.
When the Blue Jays play host to the Baltimore Orioles tonight, the Toronto team will hold Pride Night, a themed game designed to attract gays and lesbians during the city’s Pride Week.
“We have a responsibility to be representative of our community and to reach out to segments of our community and overall just be an inclusive organization,” said Rob Godfrey, the Blue Jays senior vice-president of communications.
The milk of human kindness: tolerance, compassion, acceptance…it does exist, and there are many who nurture it within our society. If only we had more people and more organizations willing to step up to the plate.
Wow…an appropriate baseball metaphor for this story…and I only just clued in. ![]()
