I admit…there were days when I thought this would never happen…but optimism triumphs over cynicism.
As John Ibbotson of The Globe and Mail so rightly puts it, Canada has once again stumbled into the vanguard of civilized nations. Along with The Netherlands and Belgium, Canada can now say that hatred, bigotry and religious fundamentalism do not dictate social policy.
I’ll take a break now from the argument, now that same sex marriage is legal, and Trudeau’s vision of what Canadian society should be shines like a beacon across the country. I’ve campaigned for this extension of rights for a long time, and even I’m exhausted by the ranting effort its taken to convince the ignorarnt that rights are rights are rights. I need a bit of a rest. ![]()
Nevertheless, I’m going to leave on a combativie note, with a quote from Stephen Harper:
Conservative Leader Stephen Harper says if his party forms the next government, the law will be revisited.
Go ahead and try, you arrogant, prejudiced son-of-a-bitch! You may be willing to take away rights and freedoms from citizens, but the rest of us will fight you. You will NOT be allowed to continue!
