ENOUGH with this f*cking chaos!!! DO SOMETHING! (Updated at 3:10pm)

Why in God’s name hasn’t New Orleans been put under martial law?!?

nochaos.jpg

The city is in chaos!

Anarchy rules the streets, as police haven’t enough manpower to stop looting. Sometimes, they can barely protect themselves!

The evacuation of the Superdome was put on hold time and again as a virtual riot began in the stampede towards buses!

Why hasn’t there been a FORCED mass-evacuation of everyone that’s left? Or does the poor black population of the city — the ones who couldn’t afford to leave — not count as much as the wealthy, prissy white people who are being protected by machine guns in the dry French Quarter!

Dead bodies are rotting throughout the city…even in evacuation shelters! There is violence throughout the city…even unconfirmed reports of rapes!

There are shots being fired at evacuation helicopters!!!

Enough! Declare martial law! Shoot looters and those who fire at evacuation vehicles! Round up all the people who need help and rescue NOW! Send the military in with a flotilla of helicopters and boats! Get the people out of this growing cesspool of violence and decay!

The city of New Orleans has fallen into savagrey: disgusting disorder on a scale that’s making the occupation of Iraq look positively calm and orderly!

The screw ups in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina are becoming more and more apparent…

UPDATE 3:10pm

Finally, even George W. Bush is realizing that his government’s response to the situation is completely inadequate!

Amidst criticism and chaos, Bush concedes response to Katrina ‘not acceptable’

U.S. President George W. Bush, beginning a tour of the hurricane-battered Gulf Coast, vowed Friday the government will restore order in lawless New Orleans, and said the $10.5 billion US being approved by Congress is just a small down payment for disaster relief.

Bush began his day at the White House, where he expressed unhappiness with the efforts so far to provide food and water to hurricane victims, and to stop looting and lawlessness in New Orleans.

“The results are not acceptable,” said Bush, who rarely admits failure.

The president’s comments came after New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin lashed out at federal officials, telling New Orleans radio station WLL “they don’t have a clue what’s going on down here.”

Nagin said he was “pissed” at the lack of help.

“We authorized $8 billion to go to Iraq, lickety split. After 9/11 we gave the president unauthorized powers, lickety split to help New York and other places,” he said. “You mean to tell me that a place where most of your oil is coming through … that we can’t figure out a way to authorize the resources that we need,” said Nagin.

Maybe the utter shame of having the Mayor of New Orleans BEGGING on CNN for help will finally persuade the powers that be to bring the full force of the United States government to bear. Otherwise, the city will become feral!

Then again, judging from reports, we may have passed that point…
