Stephen Harper: leader of bigots, morally repugnant, dumbass supreme…he is now Prime Minister of Canada…
…but only just!
With only 124 seats, the Conservatives will have to grovel to the Liberals and the NDP for each and every vote they need. They will be able to pass NOTHING without negotiating with the opposition. Tax credits up the wazoo won’t happen without compromise on other issues. Same sex marriage is safe…especially since the Conservatives would lose such a vote by MILES!
Harper will NEVER be my Prime Minister…and I don’t think he’ll survive two years. His party will get itchy and bitchy, the crazy homophobes and anti-choice scum will come out of the woodwork, Harper will get irritated…and I’m willing to bet we’ll be doing this in May/June of 2007.
As for the Liberals, it was a spanking…but that’s all. This entire election was more of a firm repudiation of Liberals as opposed to a support for the Conservatives. At 103 seats, the Liberals lost…but they kept a great deal of support across the country, AND they still pretty much own the Vancouver/Toronto/Montreal axis. Paul Martin resigns graciously, new leadership will take the helm sometime this summer…the Liberals will regenerate & return. Count on it!
I’m very happy for the NDP. I was hoping they would match the 30 seats of 1984…but they will remain a strong opposition voice. I’m pleased for the happy supporters of the vegan-hemp-cooperative! 
Then there’s the BQ in Quebec…and all I have to say about them is this: NYAH-NYAH-NYAH-NYAH! LOSER! So much for your 50% showing, you seditious bastard!
For the time being, it looks like I won’t have to move away from the country. The forces of darkness will not triumph…they are on a short leash. Tonight, I will actually sleep soundly…and dream of plotting the downfall of the Conservative-Lords-of-the-Sith.
