“Murder. Murder is my heritage… Is that the lesson I’m supposed to pass on to our child?”
After last week’s intense maelstrom, this week we get…well…more of the same.

Drama series usually use chess-like plot tactics to move characters into positions for upcoming episodes…but this is the first time I’ve ever seen them used as a way to screw EVERYONE over! In fact, this episode shouldn’t be called Fragged…it should be called Comeuppance!
Watch as Crashdown loses it and pays for his breakdown with his life. Watch as Colonel Tigh falls deeper into the false euphoria of his alcohol…and into the arms of his cunning bitch of a wife…resulting in his declaring martial law. Watch as he tries to embarrass the President…only to see her become a messiah to the Quorum of Twelve!
And…most surprisingly of all…watch as Baltar takes the strangest yet most positive character steps of his life. Under the prodding of Number Six, he takes a life…and he’s disgusted with both himself and the world into which she so desperately wants to bring his child. His intense disgust…and his belief that human life should mean more than this…leaves even Six wanting. Her calling out to him in desperation, telling him that she will be his conscience, is the most sad and pathetic we’ve ever seen her!
A sense of doom and despair, building intensely…a train wreck waiting to happen. Fragged is all about breakdowns and realizations and turning points ? all mixed together with intense emotion, courtesy of more superb writing and some exceptional direction. I defy you not to feel haunted by the up-from-the-ground shots in the forest, or the diving-down-from-orbit shots. Sergio Gezzan is determined to make us feel each and every beat of this terrific show…and he succeeds brilliantly!
