Enter, Stage Left

Last night, for the first time in years, I attended a performance of a school play.

I was requested to attend by a certain young padawan of mine…and how could I refuse. It would have been disrespectful…and I wouldn’t have EVER heard the end of it, if I didn’t attend.

So there I was, in the back row, wondering what I was going to see. If I’m honest, I’ll say that I went into this evening with some fairly mid-range expectations…

…but WOW…I was proven VERY wrong!

The production was 7 Stories, by Morris Panych…and the cast was brilliant. Not one mistake! They rattled through the most amazing pieces of dialogue. They acted their hearts out. I was suitably impressed and entertained for two hours. I laughed, I contemplated, I occasionally gasped…

They took my breath away!

I’m going to have to attend these productions more often – next year may very well feature a performance of my own play, written five years ago. Someone in the arts department has finally shown an interest…and with a cast such as I saw on stage last night, I have every confidence that it could be a stunning production.

Damn kiddies…they’ve always got a surprising or three up their sleeves!
