What did he say?

On a campaign-style swing through New Brunswick, handing out money, Stephen Harper solemnly subscribed to the unwritten rule that the Feds don’t interfere with the election plans & campaigns of their Provincial cousins. However, he did go out of his way to remind N.B. voters of the following:

“Remember…Heaven is blue, and Hell is red.”

I heard him utter this on the car radio. I didn’t know whether to spit, scream, or laugh until my spleen burst.

Subtlety is something that seemingly escapes the grasp of Mr. Harper — he prefers to wallow in boorishness and uncouth language. Can you imagine something so ridiculous and purile coming out of the mouth of Pierre Trudeau? Or something so unrefined being uttered by Brian Mulroney (Secret Mulroney Tapes aside, he was a man gifted with the silver tongue)…

…and somewhere in heaven, both Lester Pearson and John Diefenbaker are laughing their heads off!

God bless you, Stephen Harper. Your never-ending quest to be the biggest son-of-a-bitch Canadian Prime Minister since Arthur (my head is stuck up my ass) Meighen continually bears fruit!
