…after A 13 HOUR DAY at work, and the promise of a peaceful weekend, which will bring:
(1) Episode three of this season of Doctor Who, School Reunion…which will bring back golden oldies Sarah Jane Smith (played by the gorgeous Elisabeth Sladen) and K9 (voiced by John Leeson). A friend asked via email if I’m being driven to distraction by the urge to review these episodes in my blog — revelling in my ability to see them mere hours after they are shown across the pond in the UK.
But when I think about it, I’m more than happy to wait and share my thoughts until the CBC begins broadcasting the episodes to the general public sometime this fall. In any event, it gives me time to prepare my reviews in advance, and avoid much future typing…
(2) A peaceful Friday night at my friend James’ house, sharing good Chinese food and watching my disc containing the previous two episodes of Doctor Who (which I’ve watched about a gazillion times now!);
(3) A weekend free from marking papers or tests;
(4) Lots and lots of uninterrupted sleep!
I don’t ask for much from life, but after a hellish, never-ending-mundane day like today, these simple pleasures are the ultimate tonic for the soul…
…at least, they are for my VERY geeky soul.
