THE UNWRITTEN GIRL

unwritten_girl.jpg

Because I am unable to attend his launch party, I’ve decided to give my friend James and his new book a plug.

Of course, when I say new, it’s new to the world…but I’ve read and seen various drafts, on and off, for years. In my head, this book will always be called Rosemary and Time…but to the world, it will forever be known as The Unwritten Girl. James has worked on this masterpiece for a long time, and it reflects all of his immense talent as a storyteller.

It’s a lovely book, inspired by works such as A Wrinkle in Time, and full of the flavour of classic children’s television from the early days of TVOntario and PBS — a time when pre-teens were treated as intelligent, excitable creatures, ready to embark on imaginative adventures. The Unwritten Girl is full of this magic, and it’s even more enjoyable if you’re reading it as an adult…reliving that special time in your life when being 12 years old meant the world couldn’t possibly get any bigger or any more fascinating.

Buy and read The Unwritten Girl — you won’t be disappointed. Learn to travel at the speed of thought…
