In his effort to cement his image as the least progressive, most religiously-enslaved man ever to hold the office of Prime Minister, Stephen Harper has called for ANOTHER vote on the same sex marriage issue.
There’s only one problem: 7 provincial courts AND the federal parliament have ALREADY decided the matter! It’s the law of the land!
But Harper has always been ready to look at a gift horse in the mouth and say, “Here I am…kick me in the face!” Just look at his ridiculous & ham-fisted attempt to reform the Senate without a constitutional ammendment…numerous sermons against him from the parents of soliders who died in Afghanistan, outraged by his photo policy regarding our returning war dead…the discovery that his new accountability bill could well be unconstitutional…
Still, let’s face it…the Conservative Party — as embodied by Harper — seems to have systemic, quiet, smouldering bigotry against gays as one of its core pillars. How else can you explain his order to quash any public comment about the upcoming marriage of two male Mounties? God help the people of Canada if two gay RCMP officers, who proudly serve their country, decide to declare their love for each other!
Gay marriage will only lead to pot-smoking, public demonstrations, demands for more minority protection…hell, it might even lead to true democracy! Better nip that in the bud as soon as possible…
With each passing day, Stephen Harper becomes a bigger blot on the political landscape of Canada.
