On the night of Canada Day, a retired Canadian soldier took pictures of three young, drunken fools urinating in a public place. They even posed and laughed as the pictures were taken.
The place they chose to relieve their bladders? The National War Memorial.
Only 12 hours after the nation gathered at the site to remember the massacre of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment at the Battle of Beaumont-Hamel, 90 years ago, these three cretinous morons decided it was the perfect place to act as an outdoor toilet!
I am disgusted beyond words. There’s now a search on for these shameless bastards, and I hope to god that some suitable punishment is given to them. Not jail. Not a fine. Not even a good horse-whipping (though I’d enjoy that!) Something more appropriate for desecrating the memory of thousands of Canadians who have given their lives across the generations, in the service of their country.
Being drunk isn’t enough of an excuse. If it were up to me, I’d force them to go on national television and apologize….and then apologize in front of every veteran they can round up…and then be forced to scrub clean the War Memorial, watched by hundreds of silent, disapproving people.
Some things can NEVER be tolerated. This is one of them. I hope the police catch these three worms as soon as possible.
