After 40 plus years of episodes, televised Doctor Who has come up with some delicious insults (usually from the pen of the late, great Robert Holmes). In particular, “chicken brained, biological disaster” (The Brain of Morbius) and “fecinie bag of filth” (The Caves of Androzani) would put a smile on even Shakespeare’s discriminating face.

But one of my favourites comes from the Doctor Who New Adventure novel The Also People, in which a robot comes away from an interview with some of the 7th Doctor’s companions feeling extremely insulted, and offers his opinion on one of them to his humanioid partner. It deserves to be shared…because even insults can make a tired old hack tingle with glee, and reach for his or her pad of paper once more.
You might not be an affornted artificial lifeform, but I’m sure the insult will be useful someday…so enjoy!
“Meat-brained, dysfunctional, gland-debilitated organo-fascist!”
