The ALMOST-Mid Week (and slightly skewed) Update

We interrupt normal blogging for this semi-odd interlude…

(1) Thank you so much to all the various ex-students who have written to me over the last week. I have never felt as humbled and overwhelmed as I did reading those beautiful letters. If they are representative of the kind of articulate, ambitious young adults I have helped (and hoped) to unleash on the world, then I think I really AM doing a good job…

All of you mean more to me than I can ever adequately express. I’m suddenly more optimistic than I was a week ago…and it’s down to all of you.

(2) Last night, I saw Borat

Last night, I laughed until every tear I am capable of producing disappeared from my body…evaporated by the hot glow of political incorrectness run amok! I have been as dry as the Gobi Desert for 24 hours…

Last night, for the first time in my life, I had a five-minute bout of hysterical laughter that nearly caused my friend to lose control of his car. A day later, my face STILL hurts…and I’m positive that many of my internal organs no longer function!

Borat did this to me. I will review the film in a few days…when I’ve (somehow) formulated the words to describe the experience. Rest assured, it WAS an experience…there is no other adequate way to describe it…at least, without using a flame thrower…

(3) Tomorrow is Wednesday. I thought you folks in cyber-space might like to know that…just in case you didn’t know.

We now resume semi-normal service…
