If the Conservative government of the Dear Leader is trying to be funny…in regards to the ridiculous Quebecois-as-a-nation fiasco…it’s not working! Just look at some of the comments they’ve made today:
(1) Trying to provide CLOSURE?
(2) Denying that this is NOT an endorsement of ETHNIC nationalism?
(3) Trying to bring reconciliation?
Good lord…a cabinet minister has just resigned over the issue! (A big, Boart High-Five to Michael Chong, for standing up for Canada!)
There are other lone voices in the wilderness, such as Liberal leadership candidate Gerard Kennedy, who said (and I paraphrase): We should NOT be trafficking in symbols that mislead people.
But he’s still a lone voice…drowned out by a hungry mob.
Can the government not see what the hell it’s unleashing upon us all? For god’s sake, I’m watching a news conference with Transport Minster Lawrence Canon, who is justifying the resolution as confirmation of decisions made over the last 400 years…and he’s drowning in the bile of his own explanation! I don’t care if you consider yourself a Quebecois and your DNA stretches back to the pre-Cambrian era…tell me you’re a CANADIAN FIRST!
Oh…and why oh why is it ok for the Prime Minister to whip his cabinet into voting for this resolution…and why wasn’t it ok when the previous Prime Minister did the same for the vote on same-sex marriage?
This is all garbage. Rubbish on an epic scale. Everyone get on board the short bus to political HELL!
