Dribbling Thoughts...

A few selected thoughts as the week comes to an end…

(1) The England 2007 Trip Post-Mortem IS coming, I promise…but what with all the distractions I’ve been suffering over the last two weeks…every time I sit down & try to write a summation of the trip, all I can come up with are happy thoughts about British Airways! Yes, they were excellent flights…but that’s not enough for a proper denoument to my trip. So I’ll let things stew a bit more for now…stay tuned.

(2) Some of you have been e-mailing me, asking what’s going on with the personal life troubles I’ve been obliquely referring to in previous posts. Thanks for all the concern…but rest assured that things are being dealt to the best of everyone’s ability.

If it makes anyone feel better…physically, I’m perfectly fine. smile

(3) The recent bridge collapse in Minneapolis was a shocking sight to behold…but as I was reading today’s Globe & Mail, a certain comment about paying for infrastructure maintenance struck me as being very much to the point of the matter:

“Any nation that spends more on its military than the next 15 highest-spending nations combined, is going to find its bridges falling down.”

Not much I can say to follow up on that…
