My childhood keeps being resurrected by the revived Doctor Who…and it keeps making me SQUEE!
The Fifth Doctor – as portrayed by my childhood idol, the great Peter Davison – returns to meet David Tennant’s brilliant 10th Doctor in a special mini-episode for the annual BBC Children In Need Telethon.
To say I’m thrilled would be a VAST understatement.
Yes, Davison does look his age in the picture below…and yet, wearing THAT outfit once again, and standing next to the rock star that is Tennant, a substantial chill ran up and down my spine. Age isn’t a barrier. It’s the BLOODY 5th DOCTOR! WITH THE 10th DOCTOR!
The mini-episode, titled Time Crash, is also being written by new series writer extraordinaire (and 5th Doctor fan) Steven Moffat…which guarantees there will be a high level of wit, comedy, drama & poignancy.
In short, I fully expect to be impressed and delighted, come mid-November. I will try NOT to jump up & down and scream like a little girl, but I can’t guarantee that it won’t happen amidst the rush of nostalgia, giddiness and sheer joy. Enjoy the promo picture for now…and await for my review of the episode when it airs.
