IF (if…!) it is, I’m breathing much easier about the upcoming Star Trek reboot film. The lines of the new Enterprise remain exceptionally faithful to the original model. But what is even more amazing is that, not only has the modern re-design kept the familiar shape, it’s taken vast inspiration from an unused re-design concept for the original Enterprise, planned during those nebulous years prior to the release of Star Trek-The Motion Picture in 1979.
In short, if this is a taste of what the reboot has in store for millions of Trekkies next summer, then we’re in safe hands…
…and at the very least, it’s a gorgeous shot. :D
