…in case you haven’t noticed. Time to start ranting.

Hmm…looking at the picture to the right, I wonder who is more uncomfortable. Is it Stephen Harper, trying to convince us that he’s a family man and not a blood-sniffing shark…or the poor baby, trapped near Harper’s unforgiving talons…?
But enough of terrible and terrifying creatures, let’s look at their terrible and terrifying policies…or lack thereof. Stephen Harper is calling Stephan Dion a “reckless tax and spender” who would raise the GST back to 7% and get rid of the Child Tax Benefit. Let’s look at these accusations again…
Who said they WOULDN’T raise the GST and remove the child tax benefit? Liberals.
Who was it who made the hard choices to save us from debt destruction after the Conservative nightmare of the 80s and early 90s? Liberals.
Who were the stewards of an economy that grew and grew at a steady, prosperous rate? Liberals.
Who was it that left behind a growth rate of 3.1% and a healthy surpluss? Liberals.
Who was supervising the nation as our growth rate fell to 0.8% — near the very bottom of the G8 — and flirted with deficit territory only a few months ago? CONSERVATIVES!
The economy is tanking, and all Stephen Harper can do is offer…nothing. Zero! Zilch! No plan of any kind. HARPER cut the GST & bribed parents with small children with their own money…policies that removed much needed government revenue AND did nothing to facilitate growth in wages, employment, or economic activity. And where ARE the new, privately-generated child care spaces, hmm…?
Truly pathetic. Harper calls himself an economist…but things must be different in Bizzaroworld. As Mr. Dion himself said so pointedly, these are nothing but “open lies”…
Speaking of stupid, selfish & inexplicable actions…

The consortium (a.k.a: TV network backroom boys — outside the control of Elections Canada — who seem to be afraid of a girl showing up their great big show) governing the organization of the leaders debate has decided to exclude Green Party leader Elizabeth May. This is truly a ridiculous decision…you’d think she was still running some sort of off-shoot of the Rhino Party, and NOT a fully-funded force in federal politics.
The official reason that was given…
“It became clear that if the Green Party were included, there would be no leaders’ debate. In the interest of Canadians, the consortium has determined that it is better to broadcast the debates with the four major party leaders, rather than not at all.”
The ACTUAL reason…
“If we have to share, we’ll take our balls and go home! BOOHOO!”
We are truly reaching new lows of wretchedness (and dare I say…sexism). Congratulations, moronic Conservative, BQ and NDP boobs. Here’s to Elizabeth May kicking some or all of your asses! Tear apart the old boys club and show them what kind of coffee they should be smelling…
