Yesterday, you helped to elect a minority government of Conservatives that will continue to do as little as possible for the vast multitude of Canadians.
You have chosen to strengthen a foul-smelling, rotten status quo that will give us absolutely nothing as average citizens…unless yet ANOTHER point cut from the GST turns your crank. If it does, you should return any economic credentials you pretend to have…
You have chosen a government that will sit back & let manufacturing jobs be shed like dead skin, and do nothing for tens of thousands of out of work Ontarians.
You have helped to elected MP’s such as my new local representative…one of the most vile and repulsive people I have ever had the misfortune to share oxygen with on this planet. We have been forced to trade in our wonderful, long-time Liberal MP for THAT CREATURE! A right-wing, overly-religious howler monkey…
Still, any country that won’t re-elect a lady of intelligence and integrity but WILL re-elect (by a considerable margin) a king-of-the-numb-nuts like Maxime Bernier (you remember him…loving ex-biker chicks, and leaving behind NATO plans on night-tables) is in need of some serious therapy…
Only 59% of the electorate (a figure worthy of scorching SHAME) turned out to vote for a Parliament that won’t be about co-operation or compromise. Partisanship will continue. The era of Pearson is long dead…and Stephen Harper, our feckless leader, is NO Lester Pearson. He isn’t even worthy of lacing up Mr. Pearson’s shoes. NO ONE in our current Parliament comes close.
We’ll be back at the polls within 18 months. More time…more money…all wasted. Just watch it happen.
You have disheartened me to the bone, Ontario. I have absolutely no love for this new government, the state of Parliament, or the state of the nation. You have chosen a cadre of men and women who will treat this province with utter disinterest at best, and utter contempt at worst.
As far as I’m concerned, Ontario deserves this Mike-Harris-lite conflagration. When the economy tanks, when pleas for help and assistance fill the air…no help will arrive. On that day, I could laugh…but frankly, I don’t give a sh-t anymore.
I’m done with the politics of this province — and of this nation — indefinitely. As far as I’m concerned, it can all end in flames. I will be happy to sit back and watch our slow decline into have-not, care-not, do-not status…and I will feel nothing.
Call me when the first crisis hits…I’ll be waiting with a freshly minted “I told you so” sign. :-/
