An All-Hallow's-Eve Ode to the 10th Doctor

Doctor Who author and wise-old (ok, not THAT old) member of fandom, Jonathan Blum, wrote a lovely summation of David Tennant’s 10th Doctor on his blog. It should be shared with ALL Doctor Who fans…

…when most people out there in the world think of the tenth Doctor, they won’t just think of Rose; her stuff will be part of it, but they’ll also remember that guy who went from bumbling terrified schoolteacher to ultra-cool monster-stomper to implacable god of vengeance and back again in the space of just a few minutes in “Human Nature”; who hugged his Sarah Jane and grinned like a maniac at the sight of K9; who fought with every muscle he had left up to the bitter end of “Midnight”; who leapt through a mirror on a horse into the 18th century; who went back to the villa in Pompeii; who told you “don’t even blink”; who held the dying Master; who walked away hollowly from Donna and Wilf; who licked the door; who waved at fat; who ran for River; who never would. Who within minutes of waking up, disarmed the Sycorax’s Big Red Button and saved the world with a swordfight in his pyjamas.

There’s a whole generation to whom he’ll be remembered as one of the neatest heroes they ever saw on the screen, in his own right. And looking back already, I’m just thrilled to have been along for the ride. I hope you will be too.
