That’s Barack Obama…the man who will (hopefully) be President-Elect of the United States, come tomorrow night. He wasn’t my first choice, but he’s certainly the best choice that is currently on offer.
If you’re an American citizen, and reading this, PLEASE vote for him…or we may all be living in terror under the shadow of a possible Sarah (“Russia…steps from my backyard!”) Palin Presidency.
Think about that…P-R-E-S-I-D-E-N-T Sarah Palin! That’s like voting for Superman…and getting Krypto instead!

(2) I need a break from cemeteries.
I’ve been numerous times to two separate locations over the course of the weekend. With the one year anniversary of my father’s death almost upon us, it’s moody and sad enough trying to get through the All Saint’s Day/All Souls Day double-header…but good lord, I’m beginning to think that this event is what keeps candle makers in business! Forget Christmas…the amount of red candles that adorned my father’s grave (and let’s not even start on all the OTHER Eastern European & Latino graves), bordered on the surreal. You could read a novel at midnight, with all the light available. The term “candle-power” has never seemed so visceral.
I’m told that, in Poland at this time, a cemetery becomes an impromptu carnival. They’ll be adding 360-degree spotlights at the rate this is going…
(3) Finally, because I could use a good eye-rollling…
…if there IS such a thing as a good eye-rolling. But I digress…
Hollywood actor Joaquin (brother of the deceased River) Phoenix is quitting the acting business. I’m glad we know this…we can all sleep much better tonight.
If only Keanu Reeves would join him…THEN we could really party! ;-)
