With the immiment premiere of the full trailer for STAR TREK (to be shown before this weekend’s release of Quantum of Solace), we get our first full image of the re-designed/retro Starship Enterprise NCC-1701…and I’m beyond pleased.
JJ Abrams has done his homework…taking the sleek lines of the original film Enterprise (first introduced in 1979’s Star Trek-The Motion Picture) and reverse engineering it into something retro yet entirely in keeping with both the TV and film versions of our favourite starship. If anything, he’s overseen the creation of a beautiful & striking 1950s racing-fin version of the Constitution-class ship that looks like it was naturally re-fit into the eventual 1970s movie version. In fact, far more convincingly than the gap between the original TV version and its movie successor.
Colour me impressed…now bring on the bloody trailer! :D
