My Big Fat Japanese Adventure - Part 3: HAKONE

Hakone is the hot spot for country-bound tourists from Tokyo and beyond…a national park of crystal clear water, mountains, cable cars, lakeside hotels, and holiday villages. Mount Fuji sits majestically in the background, and it was a breathtaking respite from the urban hyper-life of the world’s largest city.

LAKE ASHI

We took a cruise on a pirate ship…and why not! :D Look closely for Fuji’s beautiful, snow-capped peak.

UP THE MOUNTAIN

It was a fun ride on the cable car. However, upon our exit, we were met by winds that could have stripped paint. It didn’t stop us from climbing further up to the muddy summit, where a Shinto shrine waited to be visit…and a few more cloud-kissed camera shots of Mount Fuji beckoned.
