(1) I’M OFF TO ANOTHER SCI-FI CONVENTION TOMORROW!
Specificially, I am going (with my sister) to the FaxExpo, being held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. Every year at this time, it hosts one of the largest sci-fi, comic , gaming & anime gatherings in all of North America, and it features a ridiculous amount of guests, such as Bruce Campbell, Linda Hamilton, Billy Dee Williams, Avery Brooks, Leslie Nielsen, Walter Koenig…
…that said, WE are going for two specific reasons: (a) to ransack the monstrous retail & dealer’s area for goodies and early Christmas presents; (b) to get our picture taken with Spock himself — the legendary Leonard Nimoy.
We will have a ridiculously nice time, especially due to the fact that this is my sister’s first time attending a science fiction convention (after years of cheering me from the side-lines). However, I have been warned that the heavily-pregnant sister will require sitting, watering, and bathroom time once every 30 minutes. On the flip-side, the soon-to-arrive baby will be getting its sci-fi/geek education early, via osmosis! :D
(2) YES YES YES…YOU WILL SEE A TORCHWOOD REVIEW!
I’ve seen Torchwood - Children of Earth TWICE since returning from Poland…and yes, you will see a review. I’m thinking it will appear by September 1st…but I’m still wondering exactly HOW I’m going to praise something so-magnificent-yet-utterly depressing without repeating myself. Mind you, silly me for thinking it would be anything BUT magnificent-yet-utterly depressing. This IS Torchwood, after all.
So…be patient, my fellow geeks & fanboys/fangirls…it comes…it comes…
