One of the side-effects of being ill…and having family members being ill simultaneously…is that the desire to sit down and use the brain to come up with some sort of blog entry is killed stone dead by the simple fact that one wishes to stay blissfully unconscious at all times. NON-THINKING is all that is desired during such a torturous time.
Still, as I have almost recovered, I should writing something today, so…

Heartily recommended.
Finally, some decent (hell, MORE than decent) Mexican food in the region. Based on a colleague’s recommendation, I finally got the chance to try it out last night. I dragged a friend to the restaurant, hoping for some spicy, sinus-exploding edibles.
I wasn’t disappointed. The food is made fresh; nothing is prepped-and-heated before hand. They take your order, they fill the order immediately, and it’s ready to inhale in a matter of minutes. It’s almost like being in an overly-large home kitchen…
…which would explain the spartan interior. The set up is more like a cafeteria than the usual sit-down restaurant. There are a few functional tables — the ones you’d find in a mall food court. The rest of the space is taken up by the large, utilitarian prep-counter. A simple space, serving simple, hearty food…complete with Latin American muzak! :-) Pretentiousness is definitely not on the menu, but if you prefer a more elegant environment, you’re better off looking for some other place.
I ordered the make-your-own-burrito combo: a large, meaty beef concotion, with a VERY spicy side salad-nee-salsa, and some absolutely delicious, nose-tingling, multicoloured rice. Delicious, filling, and healthy. What more could you ask for?
It’s not the type of restaurant you’d head to for a formal evening out. However, if you’re in the mood for something that will delight your tastebuds without leading you further down the path to clogged artery surgery…then this should be your destination.
And yes…it DID do wonders for my sinuses. :D
